When we’re out of town, it’s always a bit of an excuse to indulge in culinary treats not regularly consumed. (As opposed to the culinary treats we consume all the damn time, you see.) To wit, we are celebrating a few days away with friends at the beach, and here is the ridiculous snack food supply we brought with us:
Cheeses: Cowgirl Creamery Mt Tam, an organic Taleggio, Ig Vella’s Dry Jack, Grafton Village 1-year Cheddar, Zingerman’s handmade cream cheese
Other spreads: butter, Zingerman’s chopped liver, Nutella, strawberry jam, honeybell marmalade
Breads: Zingerman’s sourdough, onion rye and cinnamon raisin. Also Stoned Wheat Thins.
Fruits: apples, oranges, grapefruits
Patisserie/chocolaterie: Godiva chocolates, a 10″ homemade sour cream-pecan coffee cake, Hershey’s Kisses, Florida tourist coconut patties, 2 pounds of Green’s chocolate babka crack
Salty: Newman’s Own pretzels, Garden of Eatin Red Hot Blues tortilla chips, Wavy Lays, some micro popcorn
Beverages: Organic Swing’s coffee, Community Coffee coffee with chicory, green tea, Thai iced tea, grapefruit juice, Pyrat rum, campari, about 6 bottles of wine, Diet Coke, Caffeine-Free Diet Coke
Plus some staples for cooking with in case we need to come up with a snack on the fly.
By the way, all of that was for 4 adults and 1 toddler for a 3-night trip.
